This handmade flat-woven kilim rug, made entirely from hand-spun Afghan wool, is created using a tapestry technique. These exceptionally elegant rugs feature soft pastel colors and natural variations in undyed wool. They are woven by Uzbek weavers in central Afghanistan, near the city of Maimana. The archaic patterns have evolved little over the centuries. However, the use of soft colors has modernized these kilims for contemporary interiors.
